1. Upper radicular group (fifth and sith cervicals)
Symptoms Dominant Non Dominant
Mild incomplete paralysis
Moderate incomplete paralysis
Severe incomplete paralysis
Complete paralysis; all shoulder and elbow movements are lost or severely affected, hand and wrist movements are not affected.
2. Middle radicular group
Symptoms Dominant Non Dominant
Mild incomplete paralysis
Moderate incomplete paralysis
Severe incomplete paralysis
Complete paralysis; adduction, abduction, and rotation of arm, flexion of elbow, and extension of wrist is lost or severely affected.
3. Lower radicular group

Mild incomplete paralysis
Moderate incomplete paralysis
Severe incomplete paralysis
Complete paralysis; all intrinsic muscles of the hand, and some or all of the flexors of the wrist and fingers are paralyzed (substantial loss of the use of hand).
